NOLA

Last weekend Desmond and I headed south to New Orleans. It was his first time in the Big Easy. We got to hang out with my aunt, Nancy, and her grandkids, Loraine and Gio. They took Desi to his first Mardi Gras parade.

They said he had a blast and was a true parade goer.

On Sunday we went and finally met Spencer!! The boys are only three weeks apart but we mothers had failed to get them together before. Spencer is huge!! Three weeks younger than Desi and eight pounds heavier.

It was really good to spend some time with family and friends I don't often get to see.

Snow Day

Our third snow day of the year finally had some snow.  Desmond and I are chillin at home together and keeping one another warm.

We cautiously walked Carmela outside on the ice.

She did nose dives into the snow for magnolia cones to throw.

Desmond looked at all the snow with confusion.

A random person walking by took our family photo.

Desmond sported the obligatory runny nose.

Carmela licked her chops after eating snow.

Then we came the back inside where it was nice and warm to play.

Found a treasure

The other day I was going through the massive archive of my photos on the computer at work when I found these photos that were taken by my friend and coworker, David, when Desmond was two days old.  They brought me to tears to see how much my baby has grown.

Today is seven months later to the day.  Desmond is growing into such a big boy.  He is eating three solid meals a day...sometimes four.  His favorite foods so far are bananas, parsnips, broccoli, eggs and sweet potato.  Although he refuses to roll over for just anyone he has done it and shows signs of starting to crawl soon.
